Advancing Agriculture, Empowering Farmers

MSIS is the agricultural inputs and services subsidiary of MSE. It provides 360 farming and agricultural services to the group as well as the local market and farmers.

Established in 1994, its services range from land preparation, to sowing and harvesting. MSIS owns a wide range of tractors, harvesters, planters, self-propelled sprayers and discs, making the provision of agricultural services to farmers all around Sudan more efficient.

In addition to farming support, MSIS supplies and markets fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides as well as local and imported varieties of seeds, making it a unique supplier of integrated farming services. Imported seeds come from Europe, India and China and undergo rigorous testing prior to distribution to ensure quality.

MSIS prioritises research and development in seeds, with focus on production of high quality certified seeds. In 2020, the company launched its first internally developed Wheat Variety, “Ashri”, in partnership with the ARC and continues to have other R&D efforts underway.

Ashri Wheat

In 2022, the company launched its first developed seed variety, a short-maturing wheat variety that helps farmers who cultivate later in the season or areas with short winter windows. After years of research and development in partnership with ARC, Ashri was launched in the market commercially with great success - known for its high yield, large seed size and a natural resistance to certain pests. The is the first in multiple seed varieties planned to be launched to market in line with one of the company objectives to localise agricultural solutions.
